A Tale of Two Lists

Two lists seem to dominate our lives: our “To Do” list and our “Bucket” list. List-making is personal and fluid. From “get fit” to “change careers” to “clean out the garage”, our personal lists reflect what we need to do and what we want to do with our time and energy at any given time.

Items on these lists are subjective and a matter of perspective. An item on one person's “To Do” list might be an item on another person’s “Bucket” list. Take “go on a trip” for example. Someone who must travel for work might wearily have travel-related items on a “To Do" list, whereas someone dreaming of seeing the cherubs in Raphael’s Sistine Madonna might excitedly have similar items on a “Bucket” list.

The saddest items, though, are those that go undone! "Coaching for the Art of Living" at Renaissance Health and Wellness helps to bring both lists to fruition. Using the SMART Goals concept and the power of accountability, the road to accomplishment begins with understanding a client's unique perspective, strengths, and resources. The process continues with the creation and implementation of Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Time-bound strategies. Voilà! The desired outcomes are achieved!
