Living a Life of Passion, Purpose, and Meaning

The key to living a fulfilling life is following our hearts. There is a connection between following our hearts and health and wellness. When our passions and purpose call to us and we experience a yearning for more, for a bigger life than we're living, our health and wellness benefits from heeding the heart's message. On the other hand, our passions don't just go away if we don't express them and our health and wellness suffers.
It can be difficult to follow one's heart. Often our hearts tell us something that is beyond what we can currently imagine. Dreams that come from the heart both scare us and thrill us. Dreams challenge us to step out of our comfort zone and into a whole new level of being. Many of us trust our minds more than our hearts. Our minds may give us reasons why we should not follow our hearts, but our hearts have reasons that the mind cannot understand. We should not let our minds get in the way and rationalize away our yearnings for more.
Following our hearts takes courage. We might not have the courage to follow our hearts right away, especially for big decisions in life. To follow our hearts, we need to open our minds to new ideas and possibilities. We need to notice our feelings. How do we feel about the new ideas and new possibilities? Do things feel "off" or "wrong"? Or do they feel "right"? The process might involve "warming up" to the new ideas and possibilities. The process might involve questioning everything we think we know about ourselves. The process might involve a letting go of our "old" selves and a changing into "new" selves capable of the new ideas and possibilities.
The more we follow our hearts, the better we get at it. A coach can help you uncover what's meaningful to you and what's holding you back from following your true passion and purpose. Following our hearts may be challenging, but the reward is a life lived to the fullest. If we don't follow our hearts, we often spend the rest of our lives wishing that we did!
